Splode 1.5.1 hits the app store!
This past Friday the latest version of Splode, 1.5.1, hit the App Store. This is primarily a bugfix update.
One major bug that got found and quashed adjusts the difficulty of the game on iPhone/iPod Touch devices. Now the game difficulty balance curve will be on parity with iPad users, instead of being significantly harder.
Check out the update and please leave us a positive review on the iTunes App Store so we can keep the updates coming!
Splode reviewed by The Observer
The Observer has reviewed Splode.
From the review:
Esoteric, hypnotic, and featuring some incredibly well-implemented dynamic audio, Splode makes for an eerie spin on reaction-based puzzle gaming that should not be missed.

Splode reviewed by Slide To Play
The folks over at Slide To Play reviewed Splode, and they also liked it! They loved the art and production quality but felt a need for online leaderboards to keep the game interesting. As you might have already read, we decided to heed the call and put that in right away. Check out the review for more details.
From the article:
Splode’s greatest asset is its production values, which are top-notch. The graphics look like something out of World of Goo’s world and become colorful as you successfully chain together splodes. Also, each splode explosion emits a musical note, so chain explosions end up creating a harmony.
First Splode update submitted to the iTunes App Store!
We’ve heard it loud and clear, you want online leaderboards. So we’ve added online leaderboards. The new version of Splode, hopefully to be approved soon, will include new OpenFeint integration with an online leaderboard for score attack mode. We’ve also fixed score attack mode so that restarting it will use the proper checkpoints.
Our German localization has been updated to be hopefully more accurate. Also, we’ve added Spanish and French language support.
Stay tuned as we announce future updates…
Splode on Gizmodo’s best apps of the week!
The folks over at Gizmodo have featured Splode as one of This Week’s Best Apps!
From the article:
A beautiful chain-reaction game from the dudes who made Dr. Awesome and Doom Resurrection. Though the game plays pretty simple right now-just tap a cluster of Splodes and hope they splode enough other Splodes-the developers are promising updates with more music and game modes. It takes some swag to obscure a decent amount of the screen, which Splodes does with its grassy border graphic, but it manages to pull it off. $1
